    Pros

Chance to grow and work on issues that impact the nation.

    Cons

Benefit package is not as good as that of other federal employees. Each office runs differently - can lead to vast disparities in pay, benefits, hours.

    Advice to Management

Make the benefit package comparable to that of Federal employees of other agencies.

    Pros

The best reasons to work for the United States House of Representatives is that you really get a good idea of how the government works. You also get to realize that lawmakers are just people too. Some are smart and a whole lot more of them are not so smart. The work that you do here really does make a difference because you have the opportunity to influence public policy and a daily basis.

    Cons

The hours are long and oftentimes all of the hard work is for nothing as things change so quickly. Also, there is no job security.

    Advice to Management

Reward and encourage employees. This is not a great place if you are looking for career development because of the type of environment. Offer more professional development opportunities.
