Pros

The wages were fair and paid beter than other competitors. Management was friendly and showed interest in health and safety of employees. Overtime/weekend jobs were always easy to come by

Cons

Hours were usually longer than originally specified and sometimes we were understaffed and needed more men to finish a job.

Advice to Management

Keep employees empowered by offering more positive feedback and incentives to work harder and longer. Keep employees in crews that work well together which improves morale

    Pros

Middle Management, mostly people that worked on the crew and know what it is like to move 18,000 LBS of House hold goods in july with stairs. The Crews, I work with guys from all over the USA and I get 20 hard workers for every one slow poke.

    Cons

Lots of cuts, cuts in jobs, cuts in pay, cuts in benefits. 2008, 2009 no pay raise 2010 (my Branch) a pay cut. Lots of iffy (as in can this be legal) changes. Management dose not tell you anything about whats going on. Many people I worked with for years just gone. I think there is a big change up coming. Movers with skills cast off and replaced with pods (Big Fiberglass box that is set at your house). The tone seems to me to be "we have 20 applicants that want your job, if you want safe or fair, just don't come in we will fill your spot."

    Advice to Management

I have Loved My job with United, Snow, Heat, Pain,& Blood. It's sad you don't even tell us . . . . good bye.
