No opinion of CEO

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

I have worked for a lot of companies and this is by far the best. Decent health insurance, sick leave, vacation and consist schedules. The management I work for is very supportive.

Cons

You cant save the world and make every customer happy. Some people are just not happy no matter what you do. They take their frustration out on the person wearing the headset.

Advice to Management

Remember the employees on the front line dont get a lot of time to review new info much less the excessive amount of email you send us. It's nice to try to keep us in the loop, but video/audio communication is a waste of time. I just have to delete it as I am too busy to watch or listen to it. Also, I would be more than happy to work OT more often if there had not been so much Manditory OT for the last year.

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great Co-workers
    Great trainer
    Great coaches
Assisting elderly and sick patients with their medications

    Cons

    Very very sales driven environment
Lack of actual care for patients (sales are what's important)
Lack of rewards for employees doing job correctly
Everything is a sale (more like telemarketers than an actual pharmacy)
    Micromanagement

    Advice to Management

Care more about your workers, stop micromanaging them (there is a huge difference between having someone coach you and a difference between having several people breathing down your neck as your trying to do your job and cutting you off when you’re on the phone). Offer them more rewards for doing their job properly. My last piece of advice would be to care more about your patients as someone pursuing a career in nursing currently it makes me feel absolutely disgusted about constantly having to literally harass elderly patients and sick patients just to get a sale not to save them money but so your team can meets its sales quota. If the quota is not met then the upper management becomes upset, helping patients who may need assistance with their medications should be their top priority, but they obviously care more about the sales data in their computers then the actual patients themselves. It's telemarketing and sales disguised as a mail order pharmacy.

I worked at UnitedHealth Group full-time

    Pros

I was a part time telecommuter, it was a great set-up.

    Cons

After a while it's hard to believe anything that comes from upper management.
