I worked at UnitedHealth Group full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The training is very thorough and beneficial. They teach you everything you need to know before you are officially on your own. They also have good hours. Usually Mon-Fri 8a-5p but in some cases you may have to work as late as 7pm depending on the state you are servicing. Usually very few stay that late. Eventually you have the opportunity to work from home, which is a plus!

Cons

I hate their interview process. It's very long. Usually you have to do at least 2 or 3 interviews. They consist of the questions like, "tell me a time when" and "how did you handle this situation"..Also it's sometimes very hard to get time off depending on how many people service your states. My friend and I serviced the same states and we could never take the same days off to take a trip together..

Advice to Management

Everyone is pretty cool. So nothing really to share..

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are some good people there

    Cons

Management is horrible. If you plan on applying, don't do it. Find something else. Found out they are going to have another RIF soon. They already had one in Nov 2012 that completely changed the perception of current employees - and not in a good way. They expect us to act as if nothing happened, but all should fear their jobs.
Leadership is a joke. They are basically non existent and when asked questions about direction and what is going on, they have no answer or just make stuff up.

    Advice to Management

Close up shop - they are doing more harm to the industry and brand than they think they are. Colleagues of mine in other firms are getting wind of this stuff and basically laughing at the attempt to be a consulting services firm.
