I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Stable company with a decent working environment. Lots of chances to move to other teams if you want, I've had 4 different jobs in 7 years.

Cons

Pay increases can be a bit slow, bonuses aren't very large.

Reward your top performers.

    Pros

    Few, if any. They pay well but is it worth it?

    Cons

    Too many to articulate. Senior leadership has no idea what is going on. They lay off rank and file customer facing team members making a difference and hire VP's who add no value. Middle management lacks ethics and integrity.

    Advice to Management

    Wake up - all the good talent is leaving or trying to leave. The recruiters are circling and poaching the best and brightest.

    Pros

    the other customer care professionals were nice

    Cons

    no assistance or support from supervisors. If supervisor said they were going to follow up on an issue, it was often forgotten and the negative outcome reflected poorly on you, as the rep. Supervisors chose their favorites and only ensured they received bonuses and the support needed to exceed in the company. If member asked for supervisor, we were told to tell them that either one wasn't available or that they would give the member the same answer and wouldn't really be able to help them anyway.

    Advice to Management

    Managers should get more direct feedback from the customer care professionals about their supervisors and how their teams are actually running (this should be done far more often than once a year).
