I worked at UnitedHealth Group full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Lots of opportunity for growth,

Fair compensation, fair benefits

Great co-workers

Flexibility to work day

Cons

Job requirements made work/life balance was not quite "balanced"

Need to filter invites to conference calls and meeting, so only the appropriate players are invited. They are a waste of time for the rest.

Advice to Management

Better communication to employees about the changes that affect their direct reports and job responsibilities would have been greatly appreciated

    Pros

good if are looking for a job that Pays the Bills

You will be on the forefront to learn about the latest bordering close to unethical cost cutting practices of corporate america

you will learn about how many persons work you can do and stress you can take

    Cons

no growth in present job function.

company expects you to keep moving job every year, due to various reorgs, pet initiatives , cost cutting, offshoring, decommissioning, outsourcing. Expect to be kicked around like a football.

unethical hiring practices - recruiters and managers play games to get you at the lowest possible grade and pay despite making sure you are over qualified.

Branding wise they have good advertising and PR agency .. top fortune co, etc culture wise too much politics.

I remember the quote - elephants teeth one for showing and one for eating.

    Advice to Management

    Stop the chaos.
Care about employees work life balance.
    stop offshoring jobs
