I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Forward-thinking company with great opportunities if you have the right management overseeing your work.

Cons

Mid-level micromanagement not corrected by too-busy Senior management decreases productivity and causes loss of talent. Conflicts in training program not addressed timely and subsequent impeded workflows become a blame game instead of being seen as an opportunity for improvement. Middle and Senior Management too overloaded to properly address real-time issues of staff.

Advice to Management

Listen to your staff when they report workflow and non-support issues. Do not keep referring staff back into the same nonproductive loop and giving pat visionary jargon to solve problems.

I worked at UnitedHealth Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not too many....Ability to work remotely (however, there is someone always monitoring you at all times). Good training for utilization review.

    Cons

At this company, it seems quantity is more important than quality. Expected to rush through cases to hit a goal target so that you meet your base salary (while the company is getting paid a lot more). Your bonus is based on rushing through cases regardless of the content in order to achieve volume. High turnover.

    Advice to Management

Would emphasize more quality rather than just achieving numbers if you want to retain employees and improve starting salary especially for experienced physicians.

    Pros

    Great Pay
Work from home options for most positions
Autonomy to make your own decisions

    Cons

    Must be self motivated
Too many VPs, not enough workers. Not enough operations experience, in non healhcare environment.

    Advice to Management

To much upper managment, not enough workers. Look at the VP to employee ratios
