    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at UnitingCare NSW.ACT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Assisting the elderly and going home knowing you put a smile on someones face due to kindness

    Cons

The pay is an insult . The management have no idea how hard we work or even what we do. They still tell us what and how to do it though.

    Advice to Management

Spend some time with the people we look after. Get to know them personally not on a computer screen. Encourage and give your employees praise. Without us you are nothing.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

    - Nice colleagues, skilled and passionate
    - Convenient head office location
    - Interesting work

    Cons

    - Dysfunctional, stuck up, arrogant, power hungry and invisible leadership - what do they even do???? They don't listen, they just talk and talk and talk without any action. This is from the very top down to the different functional Heads and Execs. Front line management seem to be fine and want to do the right thing but they are forced to take crap from Execs.
    - CONSTANT change without communication; what is the constant change and changing of goal posts for?
    - Lack of communication, purpose, values
    - Continuous cost cutting and redundancies across all levels of the organisation, head office and front line staff
    - Known poor performers who don't leave/not reprimanded by management and the constant staff reductions burden staff with extra heavy workload.
    - Staff are becoming more and more demotivated, stressed, tired, negative, overworked and they don't feel appreciated. Management take the credit for the work done by staff.
    - Nothing ever works, everything is so disorganised

    Advice to Management

    - Start thinking more about staff and their well being.
    - Provide more meaningful benefits and perks.
    - Get rid of dead weight
    - Do something of value for problems that exist and are known, don't sit on your backside and gossip.
    - Actions speak louder than words
    - Stop changing your minds every 5 seconds.
    - Stop making good staff redundant and get rid of the poor performers
