I worked at Universal American full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

great people who deserve better treatment-job security-some good managers who treat their employees well by respecting their opinion as well as small gestures of lunches showing their appreciation as well as flex time as long as you do your job

Cons

good people are not recognized-most people in Sr. Management got there by throwing many people under the bus-they do not pay according to the market unless you are a member of senior management

Advice to Management

really learn to see people as people-help them grow instead of just caring about yourself

I have been working at Universal American full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Thought I was going to be in a great group of creative, focused, driven professionals. It turns out that I was, but they are all at the entry-level being overworked and underpaid.

    Cons

There's no mid-management and HR here is a joke. Three different states and multiple departments complained about a Director and not one action was taken. This Director is still at the company terrorizing his employees. Morale is non-existent at this point.

    Advice to Management

Quit rewarding incompetence with promotions. Start recognizing based on merit and work product.

    Cons

Always rumors of layoffs. Spotty management. Some great, some awful.
