I worked at Universal Orlando Resort as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Was allowed to take on projects of my own once I learned the ropes
Very helpful staff that wanted to see me succeed
Wasn't stuck with administrative duties

Cons

Good pay as an intern, but not good pay for a full time career
Lots of turnover and changes within departments. People coming and going often.

I have been working at Universal Orlando Resort full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Great Product
    -Great Benefits
-The outlook for this company product wise is great, the Harry Potter expansion saved the organization.

    Cons

The company is expanding faster than it expected, middle/low management keeps creating new positions that are needed elsewhere on the food chain. Hourly supervisors are simply not paid enough and are seen as disposable.

    Advice to Management

Pay hourly supervisors more, give them more responsibility, they will make the workload overall less and less middle/low management will be needed.

I have been working at Universal Orlando Resort part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free tickets, discounts in park, free parking, a little more relaxed than Disney but stricter than Seaworld, decently priced employee food, good hours, pretty easy job.

    Cons

Supervisors are ninjas who will hide in shadows (they are a little difficult to get a hold of, don't feel very hands on except when their job is on the line.), leads and supervisors tend to throw you under the bus to appease angry guests.

    Advice to Management

If you want your team to enforce a rule, let them enforce it. By letting a guest break a rule (such as line jumping) because they throw a tantrum, you are enforcing their poor behavior.
