I worked at Universal Orlando Resort as a contractor (More than 5 years)

Pros

Unlimited access to both parks all year long with no black-out dates.
Discounts on merchandise, move tickets, etc...

Cons

Limited incentives to maintain long-time employment.
Limited performance feedback outside of annual evaluation.

Advice to Management

Be proactive in providing performance evaluations year long. Do not wait until the review to share thoughts on improving performance if those thoughts will impact promotions, wage/salary increases, etc...

I worked at Universal Orlando Resort full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Complimentary park tickets, safe, and a lot of fun. Great training is provided for new Team Members. There is a lot of growth within the company and the theme parks in the next few years which is very exciting. If you do not enjoy the department you work for, there are many opportunities within the company to transfer given your job performance and attendance.

    Cons

Depends which department you work for but some people that are working management positions are very inexperienced. Very low pay compared to the competitors.

    Advice to Management

Have higher standards for those you wish to place in management positions. That is one of the reasons why I left.... was getting tired of doing more work than permanent management staff were doing.
