I have been working at Universal Technical Institute full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Good pay but really not up to par on what other tech schools pay their employees. Awesome staff, but management rarely knows a thing about the facts

Cons

Management rarely knows ANYTHING about federal polices, use their employees so that they can look good for THEIR bosses. Most of the big bosses are never the same each month. Stupid policies on tiny things (What way your computer monitor needs to be angeled at)

Advice to Management

Learn your stuff. If you are IN CHARGE of the department, please know at least the basics and don't rely on asking your employees how to do your own dang job.

I have been working at Universal Technical Institute full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly people, great 'intentions' for company sustainability, clean safe workspace, great mission/vision focus on 'improving lives' (mostly student focused, a.k.a. core business driver)

    Cons

Leadership spread thin due to recent staff losses, real expectations not fully disclosed during on-boarding process, too many 'hidden messages' behind 'smiles and grip n grins'.

    Advice to Management

Every company needs to cust costs, but there is still a 'cost of doing business' that has to occur. Be more candid when discussing expectations and forward movement.

    Pros

If you are comfortable making $12/hr for life then this is the job for you!

    Cons

    Looming potential for layoff!
    Management has no clue.
Worker bees are poorly paid and treated!
    Management has too much favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Take a serious step back, manage what you can, pay your employees alot more!
