I worked at University of Connecticut Health Center full-time

    Pros

Great benefits package including paid time off, sick time, and personal time with rollover. Union membership also offers great support and benefits.

    Cons

The parking situation here is awful, especially considering the suburban location. Inter-departmental politics are no different than any other company.

    Advice to Management

Many focus groups are held when the hospital undergoes changes. Although input from employees was asked for, it was made clear that decisions had already been made and would not likely take into account the suggestions or concerns of employees.

I have been working at University of Connecticut Health Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I was able to get promoted rather quickly in a stronger economic time and with good work ethic.

    Cons

Budget deficit. Cuts will need to be made. Strong union which makes it difficult to fire non-producers.

    Advice to Management

Totally restructure and remove areas that ate redundant and duplicate.
