Jobs are posted on frequent basis. Some jobs offer creative flexibility. Work hours, time off and benefits are excellent

Unionized environment which can be a pro to the individual but a con to management.

    Advice to Management

Mentorship and Leadership varies greatly within University Departments. Academic Departments need to be less myopic and self centered. The University as a whole should focus on what will propel the University to greatness rather than caving to the needs of faculty and departments.

    Pros

There are so many people that you will be interacting with, and the vast majority are happy and engaging. If you let yourself get absorbed into the social fabric of the university, you'll have a great time every day. There's a lot to be learned from the people who work there, and they're generally happy to share their expertise.

    Cons

Lots of overhead in terms of getting things done, as is to be expected of a public institution of this scale.
