Making far less than half of what I made as a research programmer 15 years ago in the US.

I worked at University of Edinburgh as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great cultural mix of professionals. Opportunities exist to make life-long friends as well as work acquaintances. Make the most of these opportunities!

    Cons

Postgraduate post holders are often expected to work late to finish up once the permanent staff have gone for the day.

    Advice to Management

Some acknowledgement that junior staff actually help run the facility wouldn't go astray.
