I worked at University of Florida part-time (More than a year)

Pros

The staff is very friendly and understanding. It's a lot of fun working at TAPS! Get to interact with a lot of people that use the parking services. The pay is great for the job you perform, which is very simple.

Cons

Few of the many visitors to the the parking services can be rude, so you got to deal with them. The job once in a while can be really tiring.

Advice to Management

Good job! I think the process involved in providing parking services can be made simpler, other that it is just fine!

I worked at University of Florida full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and vacation, perks (like bus passes and cheap car rentals) of being a UF employee, tuition compensation

    Cons

Lots of red tape for everything, no flexibility, terrible parking situation, hourly employees were expected to work off the clock. They tout tuition reimbursement as one of their great benefits, but in my case the hours I was required to work meant there was no way I could take classes.

    Advice to Management

Let departments have more leeway to adjust their pay/vacation policies when individual emergencies arise, hire more part-time staff to allow full-time staff more flexibility. It would be cheaper for you in the long run.

I worked at University of Florida full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Presence of a medical and engineering school on the same campus fostering collaborations for biomedical research

    Cons

Weather in Florida can be deterring sometimes. the biomedical department at UF is still new and developing so there is scope for doing better with courses etc
