Pros

This is a great place to live, in a world-class research center. Your peers and childrens' peers are all very success-oriented.

Cons

Can't really think of any. If you are looking to contribute to a great community, come here.

I have been working at University of Illinois full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great place with lots of smart people
    - You can really focus on your career here since the number of attractions is quite limited
    - Still, you can find theaters, go to performances and such if you want to.
    - Fresh air :)

    Cons

    - Choice of benefits is a joke. You DO get benefits, and they are OK, but there is no real choice.
    - Your success depends on the group you join. Closed-knit community makes it harder to switch groups. But I believe that's true everywhere.
    - Expensive parking. In a place like UIUC one could expect parking to be free.

    Advice to Management

Provide more benefit choices (BlueCross Blue Shield of Illinois would be nice) or show that something is being done in this direction.

I have been working at University of Illinois full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Series of two interviews. Before one can become a grounds worker at the university, they must pass a overall physical and ethics training.

    Cons

The waiting process for call backs can take a good amount of time sometimes. Also the multiple interview dates can be detrimental to you getting the job or not, as one has to clear their schedule to complete on effeciently.
