I have been working at University of Iowa part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

This job (Student IT Support for the Housing & Dining department) has great job security and provides very good compensation for a student university job. You'll learn a lot of skills on the job (problem solving, trouble shooting, working together, prioritizing tasks, etc.) and it looks great on a resume.

Cons

For being a part-time job for students I can't think of any cons.

I have been working at University of Iowa part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Was able to focus on my schoolwork while having a meaningful job. The people are very friendly and everyone seemed to appreciate us for the most part.

    Cons

Frequent busy work and asked to do every little thing no one else wanted to do. Often times the students are blamed for whatever random thing may go wrong that no one else wants to own up to. That would suck more, but our program has awesome people heading it up that protect us really well from the Clinic Admin or Board.
