Enjoy safe and relatively inexpensive life here.

Cons

Cold Winter. Hot summer. Little bit boring.

Advice to Management

Actually I do not have suggestion. Satisfied.

    Pros

The medical insurance is superb and you have access to the College of Dentistry for low cost care. The Microbiology Department has good research benefits like a fully stocked biochem storeroom, an enzyme core and microscopy facility. Because it is a college town going out for drinks is inexpensive, though the crowds can be rowdy.

    Cons

The weather in the winter is abysmal. The town is on the small side and doesn't offer much in variety of food or experience. The population of the people working at the University is almost homogenously Caucasian so there is not much diversity. The nearest large city is Chicago at ~3 hours to the east.

    Advice to Management

We understand the budget crisis, but cutting scheduled raises for employees paid off of federal grants cannot help the budget.

    Pros

Professors and students are very nice and smart. The housing price is very low compared to a lot of other places.

    Cons

Most of time you got to be in the home or in the office. Otherwise, there are no too many other thing you can do.

    Advice to Management

In the recent economic downturn, it is tough for everybody in the university but the management can do better to protect their greatest assets-professors, researchers and students.
