No opinion of CEO

Pros

The benefits are great and it's a very flexible place to work-- great work/life balance. You can almost always get time off if you need to.

Cons

The infrastructure of the university is terrible, though-- no one ever knows what's going on and it takes a million years to get anything done if you have to rely on people outside of your own office.

Advice to Management

Get your act together and get rid of all the bureaucracy. There is no reason I should have to get 5 peoples' approval to pay a research subject.

    Pros

Benefits, close to residence, provides educaitonal oppourtunities for myself and my family, some employees are great to work with at the college.

    Cons

Eliteness of the university means that it is hard to get contact with high up supervisors and things move at a slow pace.

    Advice to Management

The leadership seems to be distant from the staff but this could be due to the university being such a large organizaton.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

The main academic area is pretty small, and the research activity is limited.
If you work for someone who has money, you're pretty much left alone by the other parts of campus.

    Cons

Lexington isn't great if you're not college-aged and single. Between Keeneland, UK sports, and downtown there's plenty to go and do. Just feels like you see the same people all the time.

If you're over 30 and not married or not have kids you will be looked at funny and shunned.

    Advice to Management

You con't have to put all the money into the medical center. It's okay to have stellar departments elsewhere on campus.
