I have been working at University of Michigan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great insurance benefits and the ability to change positions if desired.

    Cons

Parking is a huge problem and only seems to be getting worse

    Advice to Management

Don't just look at the title of the employee for their pay, look at EVERYTHING the employee does or contributes to your department.

I worked at University of Michigan full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, opportunities to move within the company, may offer work flexibility. Satisfied with maternity leave. For employees who've been there over a year, they have paid leave starting 2 weeks before due date and 6-8 weeks after birth. You can take off up to a year and they will try to hold your position. You also get the week off between Christmas and New Years.

    Cons

Your job can change in a moment due to leadership changes or priority changes. Depending on how big your department is, it maybe difficult to get to know other staff.

    Advice to Management

Communicate changes to staff to get them on board. Faculty and students aren't the only ones that matter.
