I worked at University of Nevada, Reno part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working on campus is great if you're a full-time student, and the university will work around your class schedule. You'll also get to experience a lot of different university departments.

    Cons

Lots of bureaucracy, and with the budget cuts, positions aren't as prevalent as they used to be. Also, a lot of the managers are under extreme pressure and tend to take it out on the students - the very people who pay their salaries.

    Advice to Management

Put the budget axe away and don't take things out on the students. Call the representatives in Carson City instead.

  2. "Easy job for a busy student"

I have been working at University of Nevada, Reno part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working on campus and for the university makes it easy to balance academic and social aspects of college.

    Cons

Getting paid minimum wage isn't very awesome but you honestly don't do enough to be upset by the minimal pay scale.

    Advice to Management

Have some way to get a raise.
