I have been working at University of North Texas full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

The cost is right, the teachers are seasoned professionals, and it's in a good location.

Cons

The campus parking is ridiculous at times, and the campus is too large to walk everyday.

Advice to Management

Add more parking! Also add more class times!

+ University culture is laid back and doesn't try to rush you as much as other business cultures.
+ College of Arts & Sciences has a virtualized server infrastructure that is flexible and meets staff needs.
+ Culture is not so bureaucratic that you can't try out new things and be outcome oriented.

    Cons

    - Working part time as a student and also being a full time student is very demanding.
    - You risk falling behind in school and failing classes while getting good work experience.
~ You must have an excellent way to collect and process everything you do: work, school, personal.

    Advice to Management

Advise student workers to switch to a IT related classes, as the training will be a better fit for their work experience and will prevent them from having conflicting goals.

I have been working at University of North Texas part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work schedules tend to be very flexible for students, making it possible to balance work and classes. Great job skills and troubleshooting abilities learned that are useful, as well as ability to work alone or in groups.

    Cons

Poor department management leaves a lot to be desired. The coordinator rarely offers much assistance to stumped technicians and the manager tends to create distractions to avoid his actual duties, setting a poor example for employees.

    Advice to Management

Clean up and organize the upper ranks. It isn't fair to the students when they begin having to clean up the mess management creates by not performing their duties.
