I worked at University of North Texas full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    100% remote team
Decent health insurance benefits through the State of Texas
Many experience people, willing to work long hours to produce meaningful training
Possibility to unofficially network with wider campus community

    Cons

Astonishingly arcane bureaucracy: complex, illogical and unpredictable
Many programs are grant-driven, so people disappear without notice
HR department is vague, distant, untrained and ever-changing (mostly students)
