I have been working at University of Phoenix full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Great training, experience, hours, pay...

Cons

Feels very unstable, some managers are WAY over the top with micromanaging, most people really don't feel good about what they are doing for students.

Advice to Management

Try to get better students in the door and they will retain better!

I have been working at University of Phoenix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great training, development, sales skills, free degree.

    Cons

Little growth from within, lots of people being transferred in to take over positions. Leadership lost touch with the day to day. Compensation changes went from reviews every 6 months to once a year with a 3% increase, maybe. If you want to hire educational sales counselors, you need to pay them what they are worth in the market.

    Advice to Management

Foster better internal relationships to help grow people from in house.

I have been working at University of Phoenix full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job is easy and flexible

    Cons

You have to do all of the work of a salesmen with none of the benefits. There is no commission. There is no way in the world to move up anymore. They are constantly firing people. The size of the University is shrinking because the industry has changed. Management is trying to change with the industry but they are all filled withe people who are in charge because they were promoted for performing well within the old system. This ship is sinking. Do not take a job here, you will regret it.

    Advice to Management

    Find a job somewhere else
