    No opinion of CEO

I worked at University of Phoenix full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Benefits - Strong PTO with tenure & free school The Campus - nice facilities, cafe on site, GYM with classes Structure & Consistency - The roles are mostly well defined

    Cons

They are downsizing. With declining enrollments year after year, they cannot be overstaffed. But it also feels like they are doing a changeover to a new workforce that has lower expectations and subsequently, less ambition. They have taken away small perqs like coffee creamer and replace the coffee brand with cardboard. Don't mess with peoples coffee. A lot of the leadership in the 2010 era was directors who got to their positions because they could enroll people. Not because they were great business leaders. This had repercussions that were obvious to anyone paying attention. They rolled out Core Values that later changed when we got a new vendor. How "Core" were these values really? Medical benefits get worse every single year. Advisors with their own teams and students are now working in call centers. This was not how it was back in the day. It is demoralizing to go from making plans, building partnerships and seeing successes, to transactional interactions.
