I worked at University of Phoenix full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good benefits. Full tuition waiver starting on day 1. Fun, call-center type atmosphere. Made some great friends while I was there. Education is important, and people that thrive with this company are passionate about helping others through higher education. Opportunity to advance quickly if you achieve your quota.

Cons

Pressure to achieve a sales quota. Can't transfer to another position that is more fitting to your skills unless you are achieving in your current position.

I have been working at University of Phoenix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The tuition benefit and the corporate gym are the only pros that I can think of here at the University of Phoenix.

    Cons

There aren't many opportunities to move up with all of the recent layoffs. The pay has been reduced to market increases only. Unfortunately, those are wiped out and you end up paying out more each paycheck towards the raising insurance benefits which are less than mediocre. There are zero incentives for working smart/hard.

    Advice to Management

If online education is so bad, then why has most every other university started their own online program, including Harvard? There is a huge opportunity to clean up the image for UOP but there is absolutely nothing being done about it.
