I worked at University of Pittsburgh full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's an awesome environment to work in and the people there are generally very nice. Of course the health insurance is great as well.

    Cons

The pay is terrible across the entire campus. Some of the managers are morons and you will see them spend money on the most ridiculous things while you struggle to pay bills. Avoid working here at all costs.

    Advice to Management

Want good employees to stay longer than a few months? Pay more than the local Wal-Mart.

I worked at University of Pittsburgh as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

from an undergrad working for the dept. of epidemiology - you get out as much as you put in (give or take), but it was very open and full of opportunities: networking, research, professional development

    Cons

Scientists aren't always good managers too. Faculty may publish your work and give you no credit (although they don't make you sign any agreements).
