I have been working at University of Rochester full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cutting edge scientific research, oppurtunity to get published.

    Cons

Very low pay, no upward mobility or promotion based on good preformance. High dissatisfaction among other employees. Research employees are paid out of grant money, so investigators try to get as many people for as little pay as possible. No respect for life outside of work, expected to work long hours for no additional overtime pay. Employees are salaried at the lowest possible salaries, only so they do not have to pay overtime while they require more than 8hr workdays regularly.

    Advice to Management

Dont take your employees for granted, pay them a decent wage.
