I have been working at University of Texas at Austin full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Training opportunities, great coworkers, nice life/work balance, flexibility, great health benefits and paid time off during winter break.

Cons

Salaries are lower, even with lots of experience and education. Large raises are very rare. No holiday bonus, etc.

    Pros

    Austin is a great city, a lot of fun. The university is huge, with all the resources you could want.

    Cons

    A lot of work when not on scholarship, specially when you have to TA calculus.
