I worked at University of Utah Hospitals & Clinics part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked in the School of Medicine and it was a wierdly inefficient environment. Totally overstaffed. My job was created because one other person was too lazy to figure out how to run a simple report and too noncommitted to work a single hour without most of it spent on the phone with her husband or kids. Management had no interest in tightening things up. You should have seen the storeroom too. Stocked to the ceiling with expensive snacks and drinks. The budget was massive.

    Cons

It seemed money was being wasted everywhere. It is misappropriated money and it made me sick. I've worked the other side of the hospital- in the patient units where staff bought their own supplies for the unit and patients had old equipment that was not great because there was never any money.

    Advice to Management

This administration needs to get their act together and trim the fat. It made me sick and I quit within a month. I couldn't handle having a fake job in such a lazy and wasting environment.
