Doesn't Recommend
No opinion of CEO

Pros

You got to do all the homework here and still got paid by hours. It is a pretty flexible and easy job for students here.

Cons

Charlottesville is not interesting at all if you come from a huge city like. Life is kinda boring and after one year you just can't wait to leave.

Advice to Management

There aren't many jobs available for students here so if you don't have a scholarship or a job, life sucks for you.

    Pros

Thomas Jefferson's university evidently holds some place of status and recognition, so getting a PhD here isn't too bad. Nice little college town feel.

    Cons

Goofy procurement requirements/procedures when purchasing equipment, etc.

    Advice to Management

    Make landscaping stop using leafblowers

    Pros

This is a great place to work. I worked in the academic side, and the management's attitude towards the research staff is very good. Of course, it all depends on the department. The benefits are awesome, full medical, dental, pension, etc.

    Cons

If you are working in research, there is no way to move up in within the university. (Unless you are a professor.) All others need to get a job somewhere else if they want a promotion.
Parking is very expensive and not guaranteed.

    Advice to Management

    none.
