    Pros

good benefits; lots of paid time off (personal time, holidays, vacation and sick). Health, dental, vision are all available and not too expensive.

    Cons

It's hard when you know your boss makes your annual salary in 3 months

I have been working at University of Wisconsin full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Research facility, world-known, great co-workers.

    Cons

Demanding a bachelor's degree even when experience tops what you learn in school. Requiring that degree to even be accepted to interview; not matter what degree it is. Lack of appreciation for the every day worker. The expense of worthless items spent by the Department heads and the Academic staff. People who don't know how to conduct business in business departments and situations.

    Advice to Management

I have had the experience in my current position to be utilized as Management but not getting the recognition verbally nor benefit or salary increase. I was asked if I was ever requested to take another position that I would give them a change to respond to it. They offered me a one time bonus of $4000. I ended up turning the other position down and saying yes to the bonus. I never got the bonus because I didn't have anything in writing from the other offer. I had already turned down the job and was not going to request they send me something in writing. The only people that ask for this is the University and the State of WI.
