I worked at Urban Outfitters part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

- 40% off of clothing (the ultimate PRO)
- somewhat flexible if you give them you're availability

Asked questions like: why Urban; situation with customer example of how you would handle it. Often retail interviews are quite similar. Just dress like an UO employee would dress, wear something non revealing but in tune with their clothing. Know atleast three of the brands they sell, and be able to tell them something in detail about one of them. They asked me who my favorite designer was, and I was able to mention one of the founders of the brands they carry. Just do a 10 minute google search and you should be fine!

Cons

- management is very strict and pretty mean
- scrutinize you're ability to do all tasks
- expect a lot fast
- search you multiple times on shift, especially if closing
- closing takes about 2 hours post door locking

I worked at Urban Outfitters full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The Discount was the only Pro

    Cons

-they give you vacation days but you can never use them
-supervisors are negative, unfriendly and rude
-mandatory OT Monday-Friday 10 hours days including 8 hour shifts on Saturdays( they inform you of Saturday OT maybe two days before hand, if you're lucky)
-They do not have proper Personal protective equipment. OSHA would have a field day
-the boxes of products that arrive in are covered in pesticide.
-They utilize temps and lay off full-time during the slower part of the year.
-Zero communication. Supervisors will tell you something different than HR and HR will tell you something different from Management
    -No AC in the summer
-No bereavement if you family member passes away, it's your problem and if you don't have vacation or personal days you get points
-It cost an average of 10 dollars or less to make each item and the prices are absurd.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees the way you want to be treated.
