Pros

Great atmosphere and music
Great sales associate
Great discount

Cons

Lots of micromanagment with highly volatile managers
Late closing times
Black friday
Poor reward system for continued service

Advice to Management

Reward the loyal, they are probably there because they want to contribute more to the brand. Not just sell t-shirts

    Pros

Great coworkers - more like family
Flexible with schedule. You can call out or switch shifts as needed.
    Discount
    Employee appreciation periods

    Cons

    Everything else!
Won't get your promotion because it will be given to a manager's friend - even if you were being trained for the position first.
Managers talk behind your back, you always feel like you're being judged on a personal level. Almost like being in high school again.
The company is very shady about loss. They accuse people of stealing and say that they have proof when they really don't.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so shady. This isn't high school, we are adults, so act like adults.

I worked at Urban Outfitters part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -The clothes, obviously.
-Discount is pretty legit: 40% off clothes/accessories, 25% off home
-Employee Appreciation!: Window where you get 40% off everything, including SALE!
-Managers and co-workers are the bomb dot com. Really chill and quirky atmosphere.
-College nights were really fun: 30% off sale for showing a college id. Often had fun games, free food, and live tunes those nights.

    Cons

-Usual retail woes: cut back on hours when the store isn't doing as well.
-Lots of on-calls (you call 2-hours before your supposed shift to see if they need you).
-I didn't typically get enough hours to live on consistently.

    Advice to Management

Keep that positive, creative attitude. :) Just work on the hours I guess.
