I have been working at VMware full-time (More than a year)

Pros

- Good culture
- Good technology
- Good people

Cons

- Need to have good shuttle service

Advice to Management

Currently shuttle service is only between cal-train station to the office.
Company should consider starting a bus from SAn Jose or other locations to the office

Growing company with a lot more potential to make an impact in the industry. Great looking campus and still building out more.

    Cons

Career development is not clear, and no real way to voice your opinions,

I have been working at VMware full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Good place to learn
    - Emphasis on giving back to society
    - Good facilities and campus

    Cons

    -Frequent management changes or restructuring
-No real career planning for level
    -Certain times no communication
-Work hard (but rewards don't go with the hard work)
    - Benefits not to Industry standards for tenured employees
-Very slow promotion process, easier to get promoted by leaving. also very minimal pay increase year over year
    - Groupism at Management layer

    Advice to Management

-Senior management not accessible much, only on certain occasions.
-the number one things I'm unhappy with is the lack of opportunity to try a different role or to move up in the company. growth is so hard to find here.
    - Build an employee career plan that keeps existing employee close to the level of benefits they would receive if they just joined based on market condition and qualifications. if you won't do that, someone else will.
