Best Company I Have Ever Worked For

    Pros

Management is great, coworkers are great, bonuses, work from home, health benefits...all great. As long as you show up, work hard, have the stats to prove you are doing well, internal moves are within reach. No micromanagement, no nagging, just do your job, and sign off at the end of your shift. No after hours or weekends. Work life balance is A+

    Cons

Stingy on Overtime; but they do it so people don't work to death

Hard to Understand Where VMware is Heading

    Pros

VMware is relatively competitive with regard to salary and benefits. The company also has a large footprint in existing customers with a few products that continue to be stalwarts to enterprise IT. That's where the "pros" end.

    Cons

Since the departure of Pat Gelsinger VMware continues to fall apart from the inside out. VMware has continued to bring in tone-deaf executives who have no idea about how to sell in the industry. The continued messaging around "multi-cloud" is hard to swallow. VMware hardly competes in cloud and the product set that is available doesn't do anything for customers truly looking to leverage multi-cloud, it is frustrating to listen to executives continue to parrot a message that VMware doesn't have product or expertise with. Post-Gelsinger VMware's current CEO has decided to bring in executives far below the caliber of those that left. Many executives who were many-year Cisco veterans that couldn't shift Cisco back into relevance are, apparently, here to inspire us all with their progressive market experience? They don't seem to understand the technology, market or customers. A trifecta for VMware, but not the kind you want. Raghu is a non-charismatic leader who has done nothing to fix the systemic problems VMware had before his leadership started and since taking the helm has made things worse with poor leadership choices and a push for products that don't sell and a move to focus on SaaS and subscriptions for no other reason than to cater to the street. It seems VMware is waiting for someone to come buy them and in the mean time executives are bringing in friends to garner a pay day they likely don't deserve.
