Approves of CEO

Pros

The company is making adjustments to clean up a lot of the prior problems. For a recent IPO and shift in senior management team VMware is providing a great opportunity to work with not a lot of hand holding.

Cons

Gaining 15lbs in the first couple of months.

Advice to Management

Keep in touch with the employees.

    Pros

    - name is well known
    -products sells itself.
-lion's share of the virtualization space

    Cons

    - The company has been built on a house of cards
    - Should be called "BEA part 2" - you're either "IN" or your out
    - top executives STILL there.
    - a lot of the best sales leadership were either pushed out due to arrogance at the executive level - or they left once they realized the place was a mad house and built of a house of cards

    Advice to Management

VMware's days are numbered and will only survive if they can clean house internally.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Great training programs for new hires. Great learning experience working with the leading virtualization technologies and everything that is related - enterprise storage and networking environments and systems management.

    Cons

Technical support engineers are now paid hourly rates and do not have any performance-related bonuses. The message from this change is clear - the company does not care about you, you are easily replaceable.

    Advice to Management

Drop the word games. Define realistic and measurable goals. Keep the excitement of a start-up, do not become a tech sweatshop.
