Pros

I really enjoyed my job and the people I worked with There are alot of good & dedicated employees. This is a company that has alot of long time employees They pay better than most companies in the local area.

Cons

They have outsourced some of the departments and the customers are not happy. Most state that they cannot understand these people when they need to talk to them. The outsourced depts seem to be making alot of errors. They have also closed one of thier locations so the work is being distributed to the other locations to pick up plus the work they already have. The service to the customers will end up suffering.

Advice to Management

You need to pay attention to the service that your customers are receiving.

    Pros

If you are ambitious you can grind out a rather decent salary and have some good foot in the door experience working for a biomedical distribution company.

    Cons

Management is rather disorganized and promotions are hard to come by. Probably the single greatest downside to this company is a lack of corporate loyalty to their employees. Benefits have been slashed as has the work force, however since outsourcing had occurred there is this double standard made by VWR management for employees to dedicate themselves to the company with little to no job security.

    Advice to Management

Lead by example and hold yourself to the same level of dedication as your employees. Also if profits are down you should not be receiving bonuses it is bad for morale and bad for business.

    Pros

the pay and benefit package is okay, if you are in the sales force. expense account, very fair car allowance. managers are usually willing to accompany you on sales calls.

    Cons

management is a joke. they do not take their job or their employees seriously. they promote from outside the company, leaving upper management lost when it comes to training and mentoring new employees. managers are hard to reach and don't return phone calls. management makes a lot of promises that they do not follow up on, to both customers and employees.

the company is currently doing layoffs and on a hiring freeze. don't even bother applying until 2010.

    Advice to Management

listen to what your employees are saying, and follow up on what you promise to employees AND customers.
