I worked at Vail Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

best. skiing. ever. 4 weeks vacation and the benefits (at the time but now curtailed) were pretty awesome. best run ski management company in the country (of course, the bar is pretty low in the ski industry).

    Cons

way underpaid and the culture became bland when senior management moved the company from Avon to Broomfield. that management attitude might have boosted the stock, but for employees it is so unbelievably demoralizing. very little opportunity growth.

    Advice to Management

your employees are there because they enjoy the life but they would also need a career. make an extra effort to retain the quality ones. you can't retain them if you have the "it's the skiing so we're going to take advantage of you and your passions" attitude.

I have been working at Vail Resorts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - I really do not have one good thing to say about this company.
    - It is ok if a temporary job, of first job.

    Cons

    - Very disorganized and cheap company
    - Don't expect to learn anything from this company or their leaders... they really don't care.
    - Lowest pay in the market
    - Time off / holiday : Holidays comes out from your PTO if you decide to take thanksgiving/xmas off.

    Advice to Management

The sad thing about about this company is that its executives think they know what they are doing.
I do not whish to give any advice to the management, I'd rather see them continue doing the some mistakes ...
    - I am surprized that Rob K. is still there !
