Having 9 billion dollar profits per year parent company. Working with Staff whom should be patients themselves. Working with closed minded egocentric narcissist.

I have been working at Valley Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nurses on some floors are very supportive and fun. Self scheduling does help with work life balance. Pay is good for nurses. CEO does want good things for this hospital but with current management in place I fear that isn't possible.

    Cons

Management is very difficult. Split second solutions are implemented daily. There is no input from staff to implement functional solutions to issues. Communication is HORRIBLE. Basically you will hear about changes via "the telephone game" aka I'll tell you and you tell a few friends. High turn over so you will be asked to work or stay late almost every day.

    Advice to Management

Elicit some imput from the employees on the front line. They will have functional, realistic solutions. Replace your DON. People don't quit jobs they quit managers.
