Mar 20, 2023 - Mental Health Specialist in Nashville, TNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Work is fulfilling if you truly love caring for and supporting patients with mental health disorders. Great hands on experience if you plan to further your education and career.
Cons
Pay is incredibly mediocre. Most of my peers were paid less than me and I was paid as much as a new hire at Target. Even our “cost of living” raise was laughable. You cannot work this job and afford to live anywhere near Nashville. Job can also be quite dangerous at times, which can keep you on your toes and can be great- but also not so much because you often realize “Wow. I do not get paid enough to be put in these dangerous situations.” You also realize at the end of the day, you’re working for a business and they still value their profit. Sometimes it seems straight up hypocritical that they preach Credo behavior and yet fail to provide certain levels of care for psych patients.
