I worked at Vanguard full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Nice facilities Great retirement benefits Good employee conveniences Good paid time off Good educational assistance Good training for future career elsewhere Overall professional work environment

    Cons

Too many controls and red tape. Hard to get thru these handcuffs to do your job. Arrogant and cold culture. Management slow to change and lacks decisiveness. Obviously bogged down by politics and weighing what is in their best interest to survive, not the crew or shareholder. Although they chant the mantra of diversity and corp charity, it is the least diverse, and least charitable (in the real sense) that I have worked...

    Advice to Management

Just lay people off instead of giving undeserving crew bad reviews to force them out or fire them. This is dirty and not ethical. This has not happened to me but to many I know and I meet more all the time. You are ruining people lives for your own benefit. This is definitely not Jack Bogle's Vanguard, just people benefitting from it.

    Pros

18 PTO Days and you can buy PTO days

    Cons

Micromanagement, no room for growth, cut throat, excessive micromanagement, burn out, zero incentive to do well,

    Advice to Management

I work in the call center. The role can be called Brokerage Professional, Personal Investor. Client Relationship Specialist, etc. You are micromanaged from the start of the day to the end. You have to take 40-50 calls a day to change peoples passwords and buy mutual funds. There is zero room for growth unless you get really lucky or you KNOW someone. There are zero incentives to do well at your job. I can do the bare...
