I have been working at Vantage Deluxe World Travel full-time (More than a year)

Pros

free fruit comes on Mondays
 location near North Station makes a range of lunch choices possible

Cons

most hostile work place you can imagine. A dark comedy on horrible work places would underestimate the terror.

There really are too many cons to list. If you are looking to write and expose on awful places to work then get a job here..

Advice to Management

don't accept a role if offered.

    Pros

    Your initial 30 day honeymoon period will be like the scene at the beginning of a slasher film where the college students are driving out to the woods. Everything is normal & fine -- for now.

    Also free bananas.

    Cons

    Every negative thing written here by other reviewers is true.

    Some of the neutral things ("convenient to North Station") are true. I'm not lying about the free bananas, either.

    Virtually all of the positive things said about the company, its management, prospects for advancement, company's prospects for growth, etc., are false. The social media team was instructed to write numerous favorable, fake reviews to this site. If you read carefully, you can spot them.

    Advice to Management

    I worked at Vantage for a long time.

    Keep doing what you're doing, because clearly it's important to you to run things your way.

    It's your money, so who am I to argue?

    Convenient to North Station and the T.

    Cons

    The numerous negative reviews are absolutely true. If considering Vantage as a place to build your career - consider your move carefully. If you want to work in the owner's "candy store" where what he says goes and where he considers his abusive and crude behavior appropriate because it's his company - this place may just be a place for you. There are also participants who have found safe haven in being the owner's negative conspirators to pull others down to keep themselves safe. Meetings are hijacked for hours where collaboration and creativity are squashed. People are paged as if they are were doctors to report to an emergency room - rather they are called upstairs to be demeaned and challenged. Everyone is required to report on their contributions on a weekly basis and negative aspects are pulled out for public ridicule. Most who are junior in their role openly convey they are their to build their resume. Too bad - this place could be great - but no chance unless things change at the very top. Be careful who you trust. Watch your back. And you better be strong because abuse should be expected. Unless you are in the call center where your work can be constantly monitored, there are no flexible work arrangements. You will need to work nights and weekends just to do your work because your workdays are absorbed by meetings, preparing for meetings and reports. Relentless accountability with no empowerment or progressive thinking.

    Advice to Management

    Take action, speak up, encourage independent thinking and create a supportive encouraging environment. Look at the patterns – extensively high turnover leaves the person ultimately responsible – the owner. The senior management team needs to stand up and highlight the true cause of dysfunction. If you want to grow as a company and keep pace with the competition – improve employee relations.
