Pros

The money is great and depending on the office the people are fun. The sales conferences are nice vacations, but otherwise a waste of money.

Cons

You have to have determination to make money, this job is for hustlers only if you can't hustle, you won't make money

Advice to Management

I worked at Vector Marketing part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The Cutco sales program teaches marketing, sales, and management skills that are extremely useful in all aspects of life and can especially benefit young driven students looking to pay off school. The training teaches you how to find your target market enabling you for an easy sell and the ability to earn the high commissions the company has to offer. Great job (or stepping stone) for anyone interested in a career in business.

    Cons

Learning how to do the job as a professional is a self-generating process so the training for new reps is centered around leveraging their network and doing as many appointments as possible (numbers game approach) and because the sales force is mostly recent high school graduates the management motivates them by shaping their values which at times can be ethically questionable.

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop recruiting and training models that are more professional and ethically sound, it will help improve the brand.
