interesting problem. really good co workers. free lunch and snacks.
Cons
the level of politics is exceedingly high for such a small company. lots of the VP's have been here since the company was much smaller. they have not grown as the company has grown and it shows. this is probably the leading cause of the politics, they are trying to protect their small silos Lots of the VP's have a complete inability to communicate between themselves and downwards. this leads to lots of over promising and under delivering. Engineers spend lots of time figuring out the solution on their own and if they get it wrong you get bad mouthed behind your back. Engineering managers tend to get stabbed in the back a lot and mostly without them even knowing about it. The engineering team multitasks a lot, sometimes up to 10 different things happening at once per engineer. This multitasking has led to lots of corners being cut. Feedback is listened to but no action is ever made. anytime there is a dissenting voice it tends to be shot down, if this happens repeatedly then you are put in a penalty box and ignored. When engineers leave they are pretty much bad mouthed that they were the problem. No real long term plan for anything, just copy the competition but not as good as them.
