I have been working at Ventyx full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Well seasoned employees who are well experienced and the managers really care for their employees.
Good focus on software development process.

    Cons

Poor resource planning. They always have to pick what they want to do. Do they want to enrich their products or come up with a new product to penetrate new markets or just get mired in support issues? Since they don't want to invest long term they end up picking just support and in turn not have any opportunity to penetrate new areas.

    Advice to Management

For once think long term. Learn from leaders like Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs. You cannot wave your cost cutting measures wand and make the company thriving in a couple of years. Think about investing on your employees and products and think long term. You will reap benefits. It took Steve Jobs 10 years to turn around his company. Jeff Bezos places bets like Amazon EC2 and it took 4-5 years to become the most successful cloud business.

I have been working at Ventyx full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some quality people working there. Immediate supervisors are responsive, but have little power to make change. The company has a good group who understands asset management.
Work from home policy is nice.

    Cons

ABB has no idea how a software company works. They've failed at making software in the past and, from what I saw, they are going to bring the existing successful software development groups at Ventyx down too.
Benefits went way downhill when ABB took over.
Not a lot of room for advancement if you're a technology worker.
    Out of date technologies.

    Advice to Management

Understand that software engineering is a lot different than creating the next big transformer and let these folks get back to doing what they're good at.
