Pros

Notice the pattern of reviews here. Current employees are a 5-star, former employees are not. Do not be so quick to dismiss the 1-star ratings as disgruntled employees who simply could not hack a "hyper growth" lifestyle. Vercel likes to act as if their work ethic and dream is unmatched, but if you're experienced in the start-up world, you know that IC's are fantastic everywhere. This company experienced hyper growth and yes, the product itself is fantastic. Work-life balance is pretty reasonable, and the benefits with pay are there. Where this company fails is the mentality that you can treat people you don't like any kind of way.

Cons

Senior management is full of "bro culture" nepotism. The values are almost as if a child wrote them, and senior leadership ignores all toxicity complaints. Ask around with the former employees. If you disagree with a senior leader too many times, you can essentially expect to be demoted or even terminated. This pattern has happened to over half a dozen people in the last 12 months. The CEO is either entirely oblivious or doesn't care, and the C-suite execs are the offenders with nepotism and a clique mentality. People are being intimidated, forced to comply, and being stuck in absolutely ridiculous positions because they live in fear of losing their financial stability. Trust me when I tell you, a company that de-prioritizes or ignores their culture IS a toxic culture.

Pros

Vercel offers competitive compensation that consistently stands out as one of the strongest aspects of working here. The team is made up of high-caliber people who genuinely care about the work and each other, making for a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment where you're given real ownership and autonomy. Vercel is on an exciting growth trajectory; the company is scaling fast with significant valuation growth and is on a path toward going public, making it a compelling place to be if you want to grow alongside a company and share in its success.

Cons

Like any high-growth company, there are still some areas being built out. Interviewer enablement and structured interview training are not yet fully in place, which can make the hiring process feel inconsistent at times. The employer brand is still developing, particularly on the G&A side, which can make it challenging to attract and convert top passive talent who aren't yet familiar with the company. Additionally, leadership is heavily focused on building an in-office culture, primarily centered around San Francisco, which while great for culture-building, does narrow the talent pool.
