I worked at Verizon full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

The salary is good. The benefits is good. The vacation time is good.

Cons

Hostal environment, very tense, very uncomfortable, unappreciated, no compromised, low morale, not knowing whats going to happen next, do what I say or die company.

Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like emotionless robots and try acting like human beings.

    Pros

    The pay and benefits are EXCELLENT

    Cons

    My work group is the dumping ground for all order issues. Some of the issues need to be sent back to the creators, but management enforces that we take charge of it.

    Advice to Management

    The employees are people too. We have families and LIVES... There needs to be a balance between family and work. The work hours need to allow for that balance.

    Pros

    I've had success; learned a lot; and patiently waiting for a better opportunity within the company.

    Cons

    The merger of GTE & Bell Atlantic really changed the company...it's not a company of taking care of their employees, anymore.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees...all of your employees, not just those at the top. You may find that better intel comes from the roots of the company, rather than the flower.
