    Pros

    Many job roles do allow for at least partial work from home time. Verizon also allows some flexibility to work around personal needs. The need for over-time work can be a plus or minus.

    Cons

    The company is off-shoring jobs as much as possible so adds to what is definitely a high stress environment. Advancement is often based on networking ability.

    Advice to Management

    There is a very strong need to look at ability rather than connections.

    I worked at Verizon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    If you land in the right area you can work on some pretty cool stuff. In some areas they can be forward thinking.

    Cons

    Upper management is very political. Very poor planning of projects. Everything is priority one...so nothing is. Intense turf fighting between former BA and GTE factions.

    Advice to Management

    Get your act together.
